I would like to suggest that no matter what the weather we all take a break this Saturday.
On Wednesday, July 19, 2017 we are expecting a couple of loads of mulch. We'll need as many Green Dreamers as possible to help rake and spread this mulch. We may not spread all of what we receive on Wednesday, but we can finish the job the following Saturday. I will confirm drop-off times and locations before Wednesday July19th. Our last big Green Dreamer push for July-August will be the spreading of mulch to keep the weeds at bay.
We've accomplished a lot to date. With the help of the rain our gardens are looking pretty lush. This has been an amazing season for transplanting; our water sources have been secured naturally (from the heavens) and we have been the fortunate recipients of some very healthy local perennials.
As we head into mid July trips to the cottage and summer holidays will become the norm. So enjoy July & August to its fullest.
By the way, there is always room for general clean-up, clipping dead heads, trimming what seems to be out of control, etc. So feel free to exercise your artistic Green Dreamer license. And remember, if you need help you can use this list to ask for Green Dreamer assistance with a particular garden.
PS: A special thank you on behalf of Christine & Mike Bradley. A surprising number of Green Dreamers showed up at the Library this last Wednesday, some new transplants were introduced, more weeding, and some very interesting suggestions for the empty flower bed, under the overhang, near the bus stop on Bank Street. More on that in the weeks to come.
