As mentioned in the last Green Dreamers update, we think that our next big push might be preparing the beds for winter: cutting back, cleaning up, raking leaves, and exchanging ideas for 2018. Fall activity still seems weeks away however a lot will depend on the weather. The nights are growing cooler, the leaves are beginning to change in colour, and the last blooms of late summer are fewer. We've also noticed, by the way, that there has been some independent gardening in assigned gardens, from watering to weeding and even more transplanting. Thank you!
We will stay in touch and keep you informed as to when and where the Green Dreamers might meet again to prepare for fall and winter. In the meantime, we hope that you (like us) are taking some pleasure in the fruit of our labours this past spring/summer season. The rain has been constant and at times a little frustrating, but it has done wonders for a season of transplanting and tree growth. It's wonderful to look around and see such "lush" return on our composting and planting efforts. We're pleased with what we have accomplished. So feel free if you are so inspired to "tune-up" the gardens when you see fit. We'll keep our eyes and ears to the ground and to our local weather station to confirm when we meet as a group in the near future.
