National Volunteer Week 2018

Green Dreamers were invited to the Ottawa Public Library at Sunnyside to help celebrate National Volunteer Week (April 15-21, 2018).

"We (the Ottawa Public Library) appreciate the effort and time you dedicate to the gardens at Sunnyside and would love to take this opportunity to formally thank you," wrote Kelly Sirett in an invitation to Christine & Mike Bradley, Green Dreamer Captains of the garden beds at the Sunnyside Branch.

Green Dreamers: Welcome to our Fifth Season!

Yes, we’re back! So, if you see us in the neighbourhood wave, stop for a chat, share some of your gardening insights and suggestions. We are always delighted to see and hear from you. It’s why we garden in Old Ottawa South's public spaces; aside, that is, from the intrinsic rewards of gardening itself.

Spring 2018 begins our fifth season tending public beds along Bank Street and Sunnyside Avenue. And with the passing of winter we are preparing to rethink and “rejig” how we work as volunteer gardeners. So, if you have an opinion or some ideas about how we might do things differently, we’d like to hear from you.

Green Dreamers: Planning for Spring

Spring is indeed here and we've been giving some thought to our first meeting of the year for the Green Dreamers. Let us know your availability so that we can meet with as many volunteers as possible. We would like to meet at the Firehall so if you can give us an idea of preferred dates we'll reserve a room. We would like to suggest weeks of April 16, April 23 or April 30 (which brings us into early May). There's a lot to talk about and once we learn from you what weeks work best, we'll draft an agenda.
