What better way is there to celebrate Women's Day than networking with a community of peers and listening to three talks by inspiring women who live in our community? OSCA's 1st Annual Women's Day Networking Event takes place on Sunday March 6th, 2016 between 7PM-9:30PM.
Tickets are $25 and include:
- Wine & Cheese
- Peer Networking
- Presentations from 3 Speakers:
Stephanie Austin, Chief of Staff at Status of Women Canada and Adjunct Professor in Psychology at the University of Ottawa, will speak to us about her part in founding Girls Action Foundation over 20 years ago. The non-profit organization offers girls a safe space to explore and better understand how they can be agents of change in their schools and neighbourhoods. Linking young girls with strong women in environmental, social, and health fields, enables these girls to become the architects of their own beautiful lives.
Susan Williams just turned 80 years young. Originally from the US, Sue is a long time volunteer at May Court Hospice and regular attendee of the NAC Theatre. Well into her 70’s, she lost her husband of over 40 years to cancer and swore off romantic relationships; until she met Peter. Known to her friends as vibrant, engaged and well-read, Sue will tell us just how vital friendships and supportive relationships are to one's well being.
Emilie Taman needs little introduction. A former federal prosecutor, Emilie quit her job (albeit forcibly) to run as an NDP candidate in the 2015 elections. Active in our community and recognized everywhere, we look forward to hearing her testimony of strength and courage in the face of adversity.
This event is sponsored by: Ilia Fabbri, Real Estate Sales Representative at Royal LePage Performance Realty (613-720-4542).
