It’s important – did you know that Ottawa cultural sites and events drew audiences of over 5 million in 2017? And approximately 51,000 residents are employed in culture and tourism? Cultural events include film and food festivals, heritage and theatre districts, rural museums, urban concerts, and street art.
The Ottawa cultural scene needs your help to express this importance. Many of Ottawa’s cultural organizations are stretched to the limit, operating on small budgets. Artists and other cultural workers’ earnings are well below those of average residents. Ottawa constantly risks losing talent to other cities – let’s not let that happen. We hope you can join us!
