On Sunday, October 14th OSCA held our annual Fall Fest at Windsor Park. We had a blast celebrating our favourite season with the community.
Join us on Sunday, October 14th for OSCA's Annual Fall Fest! Read more to find out about this year's event:
A Company of Fools returns to Windsor Park with the ever popular Torchlight Shakespeare Series – bringing Shakespeare to Ottawa parks all summer long! Now in its sixteenth year, this season’s Torchlight production is the farcical romantic comedy Twelfth Night – one of Shakespeare’s most beloved works.
Set out a lawn chair or a blanket as Bear & Co. brings you a summer outdoor touring production of Shakespeare’s ridiculously over-the-top Cymbeline. Follow a pair of lovers as they react to the mad world around them in a 90-minute version of the play Shakespeare packed with every plot device he could think of: star-crossed lovers, a wicked stepmother, a befuddled king, a loyal servant, separated siblings, wild men, exiled kin, cross-dressing, kidnapping, murder plots, and a Roman invasion.
It started as a crappy morning. Rain (possible thundershowers) and 7° C; what to do? What to do? Well, it seemed that Brian had picked up the coffee & Timbits, so there was no turning back. After a rather soggy start, we had 25+ brave souls turn up to what turned out to be a fantastic social gaggle and park cleanup.
For the 21st year in a row we will be having our annual spring “tune up” of Windsor Park. Please join us on Saturday April 28th (9am until noon) to enjoy the chance to chip in to keep our park the best and for a spring catch up with all your neighbours.
The Windsor ice rink is a central feature of Windsor Park from December to March. It’s a special privilege that we have in Old Ottawa South, and is used by hockey players and skaters from across the city.
Come rain or shine, on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, Old Ottawa South will host its first Capital Spokes Bike Rally & Rodeo.
The event itself has two parts: a rally and a rodeo. Come to both—the rally begins at 9:00 a.m. at Brewer Park—or come to Windsor Park at 10:00 a.m. where our young cyclists will have an opportunity to demonstrate some of their best riding skills in obstacle courses designed to teach them the safer handling of their untamed bike broncos. Under the guidance of Safer Roads Ottawa, the tennis courts will serve as fenced-in safety corrals to practice turns, bike balance, and hand signals.
Holy Cow! Can you believe it? This was the 20th time we met over a coffee and compost bags to give our parks (Windsor Park plus Linda Thom Park) a "Spring Spruce Up." Along with the usual mayhem from the dog salad, Pete, Brian, Gary, Linda, and Mike lead the interested to rake up, pick up, clean up, and chop down as appropriate. We lucked out with a warm sunny day after a rather soggy previous week.
