OSCA is now hiring for the position of Administrative Coordinator of Programs and Communications. This is a full-time salaried position at Old Ottawa South Community Centre.
If one or more of your children participated in OSCA's After Four program, or one of our holiday, March Break, or PD Day programs in the 2013/2014 school year, we would like to know what you thought!
On Sunday, June 8, 2014 the sun shone brightly over 22 artists and artisans in Windsor Park for the third annual OSCA Windsor Park Art Show.
The artists really outdid themselves and there were many creative, bright, and eclectic creations to be seen. Visit the OSCA Facebook site to see our art show album.
It's that time of year again! We look forward to hearing your feedback regarding your experience participating in OSCA programs. Please take a few moments to fill out our online survey (remember that you may only fill out one survey per program). In an effort to engage our program users and gain valuable feedback this will assist us in improving user experience, we look forward to receiving your input.
Last week to participate! Winter/Spring 2014 Survey (Survey available until July 14, 2014)
Here's the list of artists and artisans participating in this year's OSCA Windsor Park Art Show. Check them out online, then in person at Windsor Park this Sunday, June 8th.
Lower speed limit and signage to make bridge crossings more comfortable for cyclists, motorists, and pedestrians
The way cyclists and motorists have been expected to share the road over the Bank Street Bridge, with its constrained lane widths, is unacceptable.
During peak periods, cyclists feel squeezed; when traffic volume is less, they are unnerved by the excessive speed of many vehicles passing mere centimetres from their shoulders. With the temporary lane reduction during Lansdowne construction, northbound motorists are currently not supposed to pass cyclists on the bridge, yet many do. This situation is made worse by the fact that the northbound curbside lane over the Bank Street Bridge is currently closed due to construction on the east side of Bank Street.
Ever wonder how the OSCA Special Events Committee comes up with all the ideas for our community special events? Do we analyze our dreams for signs? induce trances? read runes? Not quite that intense, we simply sit in a group and talk and exchange ideas. Crazy right?
On June 14, 2014, from 9am-12pm, we will be holding our planning session (venue to be announced) to come up with ideas for our next year of OSCA events. We are always looking for new ideas and new members. If you have an idea you think would be perfect, want to join our group, or both, then please get in touch with us.
OSCA proudly presents the third annual OSCA Windsor Park Art Show on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Windsor Park, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. This event features over 20 artists and artisans, live music and is held in the idyllic outdoor setting of Windsor Park overlooking the Rideau River.
This ever-growing event is a wonderful opportunity for new and established artists to display their art and to meet fellow artists.
