No Left Turn at Bank Street, Please!

no left echo at bank In response to a complaint from the OSCA Traffic and Safety Committee about ongoing illegal left turns at Echo Drive north on to Bank Street,  a new temporary sign has been installed on Echo Drive. As well, a police car has been stationed at the intersection during targeted peak periods. Thanks to City officials and the Ottawa Police for their assistance in discouraging this dangerous practice of illegal left turns.   

Lansdowne Traffic Public Meeting: Thurs. May 7, 2015

Lansdowne  Everyone is invited to an open house presentation on Lansdowne transportation issues hosted by the Glebe Community Association at the Glebe Community Centre starting at 7pm on Thursday, May 7, 2015.

You will have an opportunity to share your observations and any concerns regarding the traffic impact of the new Lansdowne during its first year of operations with representatives from the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group.

Main Street Construction Begins Spring 2015

As part of the Main Street Renewal project, work on the McIlraith Bridge (Main Street/Symth Road) over the Rideau River begins this spring.

Taking Care of Business, Thinking Ahead

sunnyside riverdale traffic wp smallSince our last article in November 2014, the OSCA Traffic & Safety Committee has continued to meet monthly, represent OOS at Lansdowne’s Transportation Management Operations Committee, meet with City officials (yes another walkabout in January 2015) and host discussions with residents on issues specific to the streets on which they live (Aylmer, Willard).


Transportation Around Lansdowne: One Year In

TD Place July 2014  On April 20, 2015, the Lansdowne Transportation Monitoring Operations Commiteee (LTMOC) updated the City of Ottawa's Transportation Committee on its work over the past year.

Echo Drive Safety Enhancements

At the annual general meeting this past November of the Old Ottawa East Community Association (OOECA), a question was raised about possible safety improvements for Echo Drive.
