Is This Your Moment? Join the OSCA Board!

Dr. Phil talks a lot about...well, everything...and most of the time I don’t listen. Every once in a while though he comes up with something that I do listen to. One is his concept of life-defining moments...that we all have 10 life-defining moments, either positive or negative, that changed us.

I know when one of mine was. It was Oct. 4, 1999 and I had just been elected to the Old Ottawa South Community Association (OSCA) board as a new member. Earlier that day my friend Anne Marie had called me and said, “They need two more board members. Let’s join! It will be fun”.  I’ve both cursed and thanked her ever since.

OSCA Board Members Wanted

Over the next few months the nominating committee will be working to identify interested candidates to fill the twenty positions that make up the OSCA Board of Directors. These are interesting and challenging volunteer positions, where you can contribute directly to making life better for everyone in Old Ottawa South. If you think you might like it, contact OSCA soon. Candidates are elected at the OSCA Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is held every year in May. This year's AGM is Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at 7:30 pm, at our temporary location at Southminster United Church.
