AGM2015 volunteer awards

A review of the year, a presentation of future objectives, and a little wine and cheese! 

OSCA's President Linda Hancock, as well as all OSCA Committee Chairs presented on current projects and future goals of the organization. Councillor David Chernushenko reported on City activity and current projects affecting Old Ottawa South.

Awards were given to four great contributors to the Old Ottawa South Community. Eric Van der Torre was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award for his outstanding leadership and contribution to the Hopewell Yard Every Leaf Counts Campaign. Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to three members of the community for their exceptional support of the Old Ottawa South Community and the Association. The recipients were Tracy Arnett, a long-time donor to OSCA and community events; Quinn Hodgins, a local business owner, volunteer and community supporter; and Noel Lomer, Old Ottawa South’s very own “Tree Man!”

AGM2015 NLThe AGM presentation was followed by a guest talk by Mary MacGregor, who presented a fascinating account of Ottawa South activity in the early 20th century with her research into the Ottawa South Property Company.
