Youth Volunteering with OSCA

Volunteering as a youth has many practical benefits. During volunteer opportunities, people are afforded the chance to network, gain vital experience, and learn new things while also helping the community.  Volunteers have also been shown to have increased motivation and a sense of achievement.

OSCA’s Summer Camps are a great opportunity for youth to contribute to the community while learning skills they can apply in a variety of environments. OSCA’s volunteers receive experience in children’s programming, group dynamics and group control, safety, team building, leadership, ages and stages, and much more. Our experienced staff also provide them with feedback and learning opportunities throughout their time in camps. High school students can use volunteer hours toward the Ontario High School Community Service Program.

OSCA 2017 Summer Camp Guide

Summer camp registration begins Wednesday, February 1 at 8 pm (online)

We’re excited for another summer at OSCA! We’ve brought back some of your Firehall favourites from previous years like EBTKS, CampQuest, Paul Armstrong’s Basketball Camp, LEGO, and more!

We’re also introducing some new and amazing camps like Youth Masterchef, YOUth Pick, Ukulele Camp run by Celtic Rathskallions and Drawing Camps run by Young Rembrandts ®. We’ve really tried to balance out the summer and offer a variety so there’s a little something for everyone!

Calling All Local Writers

Introducing OSCA’s Author Reading Nights

We are looking for authors who live or work in Old Ottawa South who would be interested in reading some of their work during our Winter session.

Calling All Chefs

We are looking for adults who are interested in teaching one or two cooking workshops for children and families during our Winter session. We are looking for fun and interesting ideas that are simple to cook and produce.
