Are you yearning for the exciting sounds of Cuban music, for scrumptious Cuban (Havana Cafe) food, for the exhilerating sight of sand and surf, for the distinctive taste of a mojito?
Havana Night II, a reprise of the sold out event last year, is the place to go on Saturday, January 28th at 8 pm at the Ottawa South Community Centre. This OSCA event is guaranteed to bring some sparkle to your tired January eyes!
To purchase your tickets, click here, select All Programs, then scroll down to the bottom, where you will see Havana Night II under Special Events.
Oslaide Guerra of Havana Café & Catering will again be preparing some wonderful Cuban food to delight your taste buds.
Come and dance the night away to the irresistible Caridad Cruz Trio—Caridad Cruz, vocals/bongos, César Ricardo, vocals/guitar/bass, and Israel Martinez, guitar/vocals. Caridad Cruz has performed at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest, NAC's Fourth Stage, Casino du Lac Leamy Festival of Sound and Light, and Canada Day celebrations at Major's Hill Park.
Silent auction items this year will include a painting by Heather Bale ("Spirit of Lansdowne"), a photo of Cuba by Graham Deline, Cuban rum, and other sensual/visceral objects.
Bring your friends, your partner, your dancing shoes, your wallet, and your sense of abandonment!
Tickets are $40 with the proceeds going to the Friends of Lansdowne. Tickets are on sale at the Firehall (260 Sunnyside Ave., tel: 613-247-4946), Havana Café (1200 Bank St.), Compact Music (785 Bank St.); tickets are also available online here.
