SWOOS, as a committee of OSCA, addresses issues concerning older adults living in Old Ottawa South and beyond, to maximize safe, active and healthy aging. We recently worked with Studio DH at Carleton, under the auspices of Dr Amanda Montague, to study the strengths and weaknesses of social connections for seniors in OOS. The results of this study are available here.
In collaboration with other neighbouring communities, health and community support organizations, academics, congregations and older adult advocates, we have created a practical Guide to Healthy Aging in the Community and invite you to read it. Please feel free to contact us at swoosadmin@oldottawasouth.ca or by phone at the Firehall: 613-695-6790.
