In 1981 Charlotte Gobeil got a rare look inside the Monastère du Précieux Sang then located at 774 Echo Drive in Ottawa South. Her visit with a documentary crew to the Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood captures a fascinating glimpse of these cloistered nuns. Ms. Gobeil was welcomed by this contemplative order to witness the women’s daily life of devotion.
The resulting CBC News Documentary “Charlotte’s Town” was featured during Doors Open Ottawa at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, the current owners of this landmark site, who kindly provided the following link to the film: http://www.kaltura.com/tiny/kpztj
The convent was sold in 1991 to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (RCPS) and, after extensive renovations, the building transformed into the RCPS national headquarters we see today.
