New Bike Lane on Seneca

As part of the City of Ottawa infrastructure work in the northwestern area of the neighbourhood, a couple new bicycle lanes are being added to the road network. Now in place is the section on Seneca Street, southbound, from Sunnyside to Cameron Avenue.

The Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development Department offers the Planning Primer Program to help residents become more aware of, and more involved in, the land-use planning process. The program is a series of half-day courses.

Euchre Tournament

Wassail, Wassail!!

Seventeen Voyces, Ottawa’s premier Chamber Choir, led by Kevin Reeves of Ottawa South, will be welcoming the holiday season with a concert Wassail, Wassail!!, a selection of traditional and contemporary arrangements of carols featuring Lucile Hildesheim (harp) and Andrew Ager (organ).

Breakfast With Santa

Write for Rights

For 16 years Amnesty Write for Rights has given people hope in their darkest moments. Come join friends and neighbours at this Write for Rights event: stop by for a cup of coffee or tea and stay for an hour or the whole afternoon. Your letters can help convince government officials to release people imprisoned for expressing their opinions, stop the use of torture, and end other human rights abuses.  Letters of support and solidarity also go to those being harassed or arrested and in prison.

Shutterbug Photography Club

From beginner to advanced, this new club will be great for budding amateur photographers to learn from each other. Each month, we will have a set theme. Participants are encourage to take pictures in advance matching the theme and send them to our program facilitator, Darcy Middaugh. From there, we will discuss the pictures as well as strategies for shooting within the theme. Some meetings will also feature going out with our DSLR cameras to take pictures as a group!
