The Distribution Manager accepts monthly delivery of 4,300 bundled copies of OSCAR and manages delivery of the paper to all OOS households, selected businesses, and institutions. They do so by managing a team of area captains and volunteer carriers.
Civics Boot Camp is a series of six three-hour evening sessions delivered over six weeks using a combination of in-person workshops and online learning.

Cleaning the Capital is a city-wide cleanup campaign that occurs in the spring and fall every year. Residents come together as a community and combine efforts to make our city clean and green. Litter pickup or graffiti removal projects register with the City of Ottawa and participating teams, upon request, receive a cleanup starter kit to assist them with their projects.
How you can take part
This summer the Green Dreamers toured the May Court Hospice Gardens. The gardens are not open to the public; they have been created as a private refuge for Hospice clients, their families, guests, staff, and volunteers. And so, we felt especially privileged to be welcomed as guests by volunteer gardeners & staff to this green oasis in the heart of Old Ottawa South.
Seniors from Capital Ward are invited to explore housing options at this free event with Councillor David Chernushenko and Bonnie Schroeder, Council on Aging of Ottawa Director of Age-Friendly Ottawa.

On Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 11am to 2pm, I'm inviting residents to join me for an afternoon of fun in the Parkdale Park. There will be activities and entertainment for the entire family and all ages are welcome.
On Saturday July 21, 2018 OSCA welcomed twelve young volunteers (14-18 years) from Canada's CISV (Children's International Summer Villages) to Old Ottawa South. These young adults (along with two senior volunteers plus a dedicated & experienced driver) travelled in their very own Peace Bus from Victoria across Canada, promoting just and peaceful societies through education, learning, and volunteerism.
