Dear Neighbours,

I can’t begin to tell you how grateful we are for your support, which is infusing us with new energy and encouragement. But there’s still a long way to go to reach our goal of $300,000. You see, fundraising is one of those larger than life challenges that most of us resist because once a goal is set, we feel compelled to reach it. With your help we can Save Our Firehall. 

It’s so heartwarming to read your messages. For many of you, the community centre has been a hub for your family for generations. For others, it’s where you took your first dance lessons, played soccer, attended yoga classes, acted in your first play. And for others, it’s how you stay fit, where your children go for their After 4 program or where you attended your first public meeting.

I’m just amazed to see how many emails are arriving from communities outside Ottawa, like Kingston and Toronto – and even from places further away, like Regina, Saskatchewan and Victoria, BC. It’s clear you are spreading the word, so again I must thank you for your commitment. 

Imagine for a moment if a thousand compassionate individuals like you contributed $30/month for 12 months. Well, if that happened our Firehall would be saved! 

Which is why I hope you consider a monthly gift that will Save our Firehall. If you have already though, I ask you to please continue spreading the word. No amount is too small and every donation brings us closer to ensuring our community retains its centre. With your help, we will Save Our Firehall – but that all depends on more of us rising to the occasion this holiday season.

Giving definitely has it’s own momentum. So, we thank you for sharing with us the hope and generosity that radiates during this season. From all of us at the Firehall and OSCA, we wish you and your loved ones a safe and happy holiday season.
