Renewal of Former St. Margaret Mary Church

CBC reporter Hallie Cotnam recently interviewed local resident Missy Fraser and Imam Syed Sowarhardy about the change-over of the former St Margaret Mary Church property.

It’s an exciting development in Old Old Ottawa South: the purchase and redevelopment of the historic St. Margaret Mary Church, by a Sufi Muslim Collective, into a mosque and community centre for all walks, ages and traditions. Ideas for renewal include community recreation and after school programming, health support, activities and housing for seniors, education, food security, music, theatre and visual art.
