The Sunnyside neighbourhood is our home. What happens here matters to us all, vitally. And the Old Ottawa South Community Association (OSCA) is the voice of our community. Proposals for the redevelopment of Lansdowne Park, just across the canal. New buildings on Bank Street. The Fieldhouse project in Windsor Park.
If you care about these things, and want to make a difference, joining the Board or the various Committees of OSCA is your chance to do so. OSCA is unique among Ottawa community associations for having a triple role: it advocates on behalf of the community, it organises events and programmes (especially those at the Firehall), and it publishes our monthly community newspaper, The Oscar. The 18-member Board directs all OSCA activities, while specific Committees are responsible for specific functions and areas of focus. This means that whatever your interests or skill-sets, there is a place for you.
Every spring, OSCA begins to renew its Board and the membership of its various Committees, with a turnover in this summer and early autumn. Now’s the time to get involved. You can have a role in influencing and guiding what happens in our neighbourhood. After all, you live here; this is your home.
