Located in the ground floor boardroom of 464 Metcalfe Street, these gatherings aim to address the pressing challenges faced by our youth. Your active participation and support are crucial in making these meetings a resounding success.
Parents across various communities are expressing deep concern over the escalating mental health crisis among our youth. Reports from various community mental health agencies and organizations echo this sentiment, indicating a troubling increase in mental health issues among young individuals. It is important to note that these challenges were already present before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the situation has become far worse since then.
While efforts are being made in the Ontario Legislature to secure additional funding for youth mental health, it is equally important to showcase the existing community options available to our youth. Together, we can create a comprehensive map of places where young individuals can find solace, support, and a greater sense of belonging and purpose. This appeal extends not only to mental health advocates and service providers but also to community partners in various sectors such as arts, athletics, outdoor education, gaming, and faith-based organizations. These partners offer valuable opportunities for youth to develop their talents and capacities.
The upcoming meeting on May 26th aims to bring like-minded individuals and organizations together to create a strategic plan for the forum on June 16th. By collaborating and pooling our resources, we can collectively offer hope to youth who are in desperate need of support and understanding. Your voice and input are invaluable in shaping the path forward.
To ensure everyone is accommodated, we kindly request that you RSVP for the pre-meeting on May 26th here and the forum on June 16th here.
