The Enviro Crew will be holding its spring “big collection” on Saturday, April 25th 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. As usual, we’ll set up bins at the corner of Seneca and Cameron. Please use this opportunity to drop off all your recyclables.
Here’s the list of things we’ll be collecting this time. We review this list before each big collection: some items are constant, but a few change, so please read it carefully. For example, we’ve removed skin care and makeup containers as you can put these into your blue bin, but we’ve added some new items, all of which will be put to good use.
Dry cleaner bags are needed in the Firehall’s pottery studio to keep clay damp until firing. Only a few of you will have the insulating pads that are used to keep delivered food cool; the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary would like those to keep recovering animals warm. Small glass jars will be used at the Gloucester food bank. Plastic pots and trays will be used – many times over – by several local nurseries that specialize in native plants.
These big collections have become a spring and fall tradition in Old Ottawa South. Residents tell us they love being able to bring many recyclable items to the same place. We love being able to talk with you, hear your ideas, answer your questions. Our main goal is always to find the best use for items that would otherwise end up as garbage. Thanks for helping us with this mission.
Please keep our poster in mind and contact us for information about where any of these items end up: envirocrewoos@gmail.com
