Windsor Park Spring Cleanup

Windsor Park Spring Cleanup

Print Email

It started as a crappy morning.  Rain (possible thundershowers) and 7° C; what to do? What to do?  Well, it seemed that Brian had picked up the coffee & Timbits, so there was no turning back. After a rather soggy start, we had 25+ brave souls turn up to what turned out to be a fantastic social gaggle and park cleanup.

Trash and droppings cleared through Linda Thom, Windsor, and Brighton Beach parks. Leaves and sticks removed around the pool, tennis courts, swings, the field-house, and play areas.  Brush around the pathways was cut and cleared.  The riverbank was cleared.  Coffee drunk, Timbits ravished, news shared, smiles exchanged, and dog treats stolen (by the usual suspects…).  All in all, the park looks great with about 5 garbage bags and 70+ compost bags filled and ready for pickup... All before noon, and after the coffee.

Thanks to the City of Ottawa for the supplies, Tim Horton’s for the owner treats, and Global Pet Foods for the bags and dog treats.  Thanks to all the neighbours for the hard work and fun morning.

Windsor Pups rock, and the park is a jewel for us all.  See you out there…
