Community Gardening: Seasonal Cleanup

This is an invite to the clean up of the treed area on Canal Woods Terrace (formerly Bronson Place) for Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to noon: CANCELLED until the spring due to the frigid weather!

Simon, our Algonquin elder, will come at 10:00 a.m. to do a blessing of the care for Native Earth.

The work is to prepare the space, trees, and ground for the winter; place plastic rings on some of the trees. It seems eccentric to do such work now in November, but our garden experts tell us that this is the best time to remove the invasive species—dog strangling vine, etc—that have entered the green space. To do so at another time, ironically, allows them to spread more.

Hope you can join us, as always there will be hot chocolate and doughnuts!
