In the November 2018 OSCAR, the OSCA Traffic & Safety Committee published an article outlining the current situation along Bank Street in Old Ottawa South regarding East-West pedestrian signals. In the article, the committee proposes to work with the City to implement two changes: 1) make all E-W pedestrian signals automatic, and 2) make sure that all E-W pedestrian signals have an advanced green for pedestrians.

Carleton University journalism student Hope Berk followed up in this Capital Current article and spoke with the Traffic & Safety Committee, former Glebe Community Association Transportation Committee chair Brian Mitchell, and Graham Larkin of Vision Zero Canada.
