Geoheritage Day: Saturday Sept. 28, 2019

Print Email

Geoheritage Day is an annual event that highlights spectacular geological sites in and around the National Capital. Volunteers from Carleton University’s Department of Earth Sciences and the Ottawa-Gatineau Geoheritage Project are on hand at featured parks and green-spaces to explain how geological processes have shaped the regional landscape.

You'll see and learn how each site fits into the local geological history. Come out and spend the day with some remarkable rocks, minerals, and fossils!

Drop by Carleton to start your exploring at the RockLab (and catch the shuttle to the Pinhey Sand Dunes) or hit the road for choice spots to discover. For the full list of locations, descriptions and directions to this year's locations, see Carleton U's Earth Sciences website.
