Windsor Rink Attendant

The rink attendant is responsible for creating a positive atmosphere for all participants at the Windsor Park rink. Through monitoring the rinks while in operation, attending to any first-aid issues that may arise, clearing the ice surface, and enforcing the rules of the rink, the rink attendant creates an engaging and fulfilling experience for recreation and facility participants. We are looking for fun, well organized and skilled individuals who enjoy skating and are able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Type: Part-time position, shifts vary weekly

Positions available: 5 positions, depending on availability

Location: Windsor Park Rink

Pay: $14/hr ($13.15/hr if under 18)

Job Description:

  •    Monitor the rink and maintain an on-ice presence to help participants
  •    Once every hour, fill out a rink usage tracking sheet
  •    Shovel snow off the ice (under 5 cm), supervise the cleaning of the ice at the end of the evening
  •    Ensure that walkways and access points to the rinks are shoveled and cleared of snow
  •    Enforce and uphold the rules of the rink
  •    Inform supervisor of any issues occurring that you are unable to handle
  •    Fill reports for any accidents or injuries that occur while on duty
  •    Unlock and lock the shack at opening and closing shifts
  •    Maintain the shack by keeping it neat and tidy
  •    Attend to minor first aid issues

Requirements (Can be completed once hired)

  •    Current Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
  •    Valid Police Record Check (If you are over 18)
  •    Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) Training
  •    Workplace Health & Safety
