The 2020 OSCA AGM was held on October 20, 2020—but this year it was an AGM with a difference! Because of the restrictions encountered by COVID-19, an in-person AGM was impossible. The AGM is usually held in May but it was postponed this year in the hopes that the restrictions would be lifted and an in-person meeting would be possible. Finally, OSCA gave in and held the meeting in October.
OSCA’s AGM will take place virtually by Zoom on Tuesday 20 October 2020 at 7:30pm. Throughout the meeting, OSCA requires quorum, so we ask that members that have registered for the AGM show up and stay for at least the duration of the business portion of the meeting. If you haven't registered yet, there is still time to do so! Alternatively, if you cannot attend the meeting via Zoom, we ask that you please complete and submit a proxy form by October 18th to allow OSCA to reach and maintain quorum. Full details below.
Registration is now open for OSCA’s AGM, scheduled for Tuesday 20 Oct 2020 commencing at 7:30pm. In order to be able to attend the 2020 AGM, registration is required and the deadline is October 16, 2020.
All Members of OSCA are eligible to register for, attend, and vote at the AGM. Membership is free, and is available to all adults who are residents of Old Ottawa South. You may register for the AGM, even if you are not yet an OSCA member, or do not know whether you are an OSCA member; your AGM registration will be considered to be an application for OSCA membership, if required.
The AGM has traditionally been a welcome opportunity to gather in the Firehall in the springtime as a community, hear what our OOS Community Association has been doing for us over the preceding year, and share ideas for the coming year. Sadly, OSCA’s AGM was among the many things disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, nonetheless OSCA still has a legal obligation to hold an AGM. Because of public distancing public health guidelines, and to keep attendees safe, OSCA will be holding a virtual AGM this year, using ZOOM platform.
OSCA’s 2020 Annual General Meeting will take place virtually (via ZOOM) on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, commencing at 7:30pm.
Due to the impact of COVID-19 and the resulting Emergency Orders enacted by the City of Ottawa and Province of Ontario governments, OSCA has postponed until further notice the Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 5, 2020 (notice of which had been published in the April edition of OSCAR).
Ever since the Firehall has been closed, OSCA's Executive Committee, the OSCA Board, and OSCA Staff have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure the Association continues to provide some of its essential services and community support. They have also started to make preparations for OSCA's new (operational and financial) reality, now that all City Recreational facilities have been mandated to stay closed until at least June 30th 2020. Below is a brief update of the types of things the Executive Committee and OSCA as a whole have been working on.
UPDATED: in light of the postponement of the OSCA AGM, the deadline for nominations for the Community Builder Award has been extended until June 30, 2020.
