One of the steps being taken by the university to mitigate traffic congestion on campus is the construction of a new road called Stadium Way that will connect Bronson Avenue and University Drive through Parking Lot 5, near Carleton U's Athletic Field, MNP Park. This would be as a right-in, right-out for cars only from Bronson Ave, including a pedestrian sidewalk connection along the north side of Stadium Way, raised pedestrian crosswalks, and street lighting revisions. Construction on Stadium Way begins the week of July 2, 2019.

Bronson Avenue is gaining a new pedestrian and cyclist crossing south of Colonel By Drive. In addition to traffic signals, the improvements include new sidewalks, bicycle lanes, multi-use pathways, streetlights, and modifications to the ramps connecting Bronson to Colonel By and Bronson Place.
Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-September 2015. The crossing should be functional by the end of November, with final paving and landscaping to be completed next spring or summer.
