The Cup is back. After last year’s cancellation due to warm, slushy weather, the annual Capital Ward Cup returned in full force January 26th under the tutelage of newly inaugurated City Councillor Shawn Menard. The Old Ottawa South Moose played a characteristically strong tournament but fell 6-3 in the final to the perennial favourites, the Old Ottawa East Hosers.
Music at Trinity Special Presentation
The Turandot Project Collective forms a group of talented classical musicians who will be presenting an abridged version of Puccini’s great masterpiece and also the composer’s last opus, Turandot. Our company of artists includes fresh faces to the opera stage and those who have wealth of experience, each bringing their own remarkable gifts to the project. The score has been adapted by the wonderful musical director, John Kraus. It is a ravishing combination of grandiose brass rounded out with piano and percussion.

For 15 years Amnesty International Write for Rights has given people hope in their darkest moments. Last year participants at Southminster sent 142 letters on behalf of prisoners of conscience around the world. Come join friends and neighbours at the Write for Rights event at Southminster United Church on Sunday afternoon, December 9th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
