On December 15th OSCA hosted our second annual ‘Breakfast with Santa’. This was a simple event with no advertising, outside promotion or sales of items, and no entrance fee asked. It is our way to open our doors and invite the community to gather together, enjoy a pancake breakfast, and a short visit from Santa. It’s also a way for us to support our local Ottawa Food Bank. This year we also asked for donations for our neighbours Empathy House.
There have been two recent public meetings on traffic: one November 27, 2013, in Old Ottawa South and the other December 9, 2013, in the Glebe. The November meeting covered the results of the 2013 Riverdale and Area Traffic Study, while the December meeting focused on the Lansdowne Transportation Monitoring Plan, a key outcome of the Lansdowne Transportation Advisory Committee (LTAC).
Early on Sunday, November 3, 2013, six members of the 17th Southminster Venturer Scouts headed out to repair the footbridge just west of Bronson Avenue along the Rideau River. The Venturers were accompanied by their two advisors and Guy Souliere from OSCA.
OSCA is collecting holiday donations for Empathy House, a long-term residential treatment facility for women located in our neighbourhood of Old Ottawa South. Please feel free to drop off any of the following items at the Old Firehall in the Empathy House Donation Box in the entrance of the OSCA community centre.

There is something indescribably magical and a bit surreal about sitting in a darkened theatre with your fellow movie lovers, eating popcorn, and belting out the tunes to one of the most well loved Christmas movies of all time.
The 007 James Bond Spy party would have made Daniel Craig proud! Armed women in silk bathrobes, Moon rakers, Dr. No, Jaws, and a lot of other Bond movie characters were there mingling among the 10 ft. high silhouettes and dancing to the spy vibe band the Reverb Syndicate.
