Our camps and PD Days are some of the most fun in the city. Be sure to check here for updates regularly. Note that our Winter Break Camp, Winter 2020 PD Days, and March Break Camps are coming up quickly, so don't forget to register!

Winter 2020 PD Days

Don’t know what to do when your children have PD Days? OSCA offers a full day recreational program for PD days for the Ottawa Carleton District School Board, the Ottawa Catholic School Board, le Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est and le Conseil des écoles publique de l’Est de l’Ontario.

Drop-Off: The Firehall, 8:00-9:00 am 

Pick-Up: The Firehall, 4:00 pm unless you’ve registered for After-Care, which runs from 4:00 - 6:00 pm

***After Care for PD Days is included for those who are registered in OSCA’s After 4 program***

*Important Note* Registration for PD Days closes one business day prior to the PD Day (Thursday at 9:00 am for PD Days on Friday; Friday at 9:00 am for PD Days on Monday).

PD Day Pottery Workshops for Gr. 1-6

Children will be introduced to creative handbuilding techniques, drawing on the seasons for inspiration. Projects will be selected to appeal to both beginners and more experienced students. Includes a half-day of instruction (9:00-11:30 am) and a half-day of camp activities. All projects will be ready for pick up generally two weeks after the PD Day, after bisque firing and glazing by the instructor.

March Break 2020

All camps run from 8:00 am-4:00 pm at the Firehall (260 Sunnyside Ave.). Drop-off is from 8:00 am until 9:00 am. Scheduled activities begin at 9:00 am. After-Care can be purchased for $48 for the week and runs from 4:00-5:30 pm. Camps will take place at the Firehall at 260 Sunnyside Ave. unless otherwise noted. See below for our options.

Come join our enthusiastic staff through an action-packed March adventure. Your little one will partake in a variety of engaging activities as “EBTKS” offers a bit of everything.

Last year will be hard to top, but we’ve been planning lots of fun adventures and activities for you in 2020! We offer weekly themed camps for our little ones such as Everything But the Kitchen Sink for 4-5 year olds and CampQuest for 6-7 year olds. We also offer more specialized camps for campers up to 14 years of age (e.g., Junior Engineering for ages 9-12). We try to make sure there’s a little something for everyone.

We’re going to make the summer a fantastic experience for you. We can't wait to meet all of our awesome campers! If you have not been to OSCA camps before, feel free to come visit us or email us if you have any questions. We are always willing to help our campers feel safe and comfortable so their OSCA experience is a positive and fun one.

Camper Support

OSCA is a judgement-free zone and accepting of everyone’s unique qualities. If your child has a special need, you are concerned that he or she should be in a younger camp, or may need more assistance from counsellors, please let us know. We will try our best to make accommodations. What to Bring to Camp

 

Each day, ALL campers - including those in Specialty Camps - must bring the following items in a backpack (please make sure all items are labelled): 

  • Lunch/Snacks (Must Be Nut-free)
  • Refillable Water Bottle 
  • Sunscreen (Must Be Nut-free)
  • Hat & Sunglasses
  • Comfortable Running Shoes
  • Bathing Suit & Towel
  • Extra Clothes 
  • Appropriate Clothing To Suit The Weather 
  • Plastic Bag For Wet Clothes 
  • Anything else that counsellors advise parents to bring

General Information

Registration and Refunds

Registration

If a camp is full or PD Day is full, you may place your child on a waiting list by calling the Firehall at 613-247-4946 and asking the Front Desk staff for assistance. You will be contacted if a space becomes available. When registering, please refer to the grade your child will be entering in the 2019/2020 school year.

Refund Policy

There will be no exceptions to the refund policy so please read carefully.

  1. All refund requests, including After-Care refund requests, must be submitted at least one week prior to the start of the camp. Therefore, you must submit the request by 9:00AM on the Monday the week before the camp is scheduled to begin.
  2. Administrative fees for all camp refunds is $25.
  3. Refunds will not be issued if they jeopardize the operation of a camp.
  4. Requests received after the deadline will automatically be denied.

Program Subsidies

OSCA is able to set aside a small amount of money to subsidize spaces in programs. None of the funding comes from Municipal, Provincial, or Federal government grants.

  • Applications for subsidies will only be considered prior to registration.
  • Full payment is required for all programs in order to register.
  • Subsidy amounts - if applicable - will be issued upon approval of the application.

Camp Hours

All camps and PD Days, unless otherwise noted, run from 9:00AM to 4:00PM

Reporting absences

If your child will not be attending camp on any given day, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call us at 613-247-4946 to let us know. Our answering machine is on 24 hours/day. We check messages each morning at 8:00AM, so please leave a message before then.
