Ottawa Journal clipping 17-June-1921

Mayor Frank Plant and Alderman H. H. McElroy and J. J. Slattery will be present on Saturday afternoon at four o'clock when His Worship will formally declare open the new diving tower at Brighton Beach at the foot of Brighton avenue. This new tower has just been erected at a cost of about $350, under the supervision of the Aquatic Committee of the Ottawa South Municipal Association.

The committee in charge has arranged to put on a programme of fancy swimming and diving.

In the evening the Ladies' Committee of the Ottawa South Municipal Association has arranged to give a dance.

T. H. Brewer, chairman of the Aquatic Committee, is directing the arrangements for the attractive programme. Brighton Beach is one of the best places for bathing in the city. It is equipped with dressing rooms for ladies and gentlemen, also life-saving paraphernalia.
