Family Skate Night was magical! Many thanks to everyone who came out. Despite experiencing milder weather, we had lots of fun! It’s almost Valentine’s Day and there’s no better way to spend it than with the people you love. At 6pm on Tuesday 14th February, 2023 we’ll be hosting “Family Skate Night” at Windsor Park, 1 Windsor Avenue. This will be a great chance to warm up from the inside and have a full filled evening with loves ones!
The Old Ottawa South community and The Ottawa Centre Minor Hockey Association (OCMHA) have been struggling to find a local, convenient and reasonably priced skate sharpening establishment over the last few years. The pandemic has exacerbated this as many of the local shops and smaller arena run shops have closed. From discussions with community members, an idea was born to launch a community owned and operated skate sharpening initiative, run by volunteers.
Day and night, 365 days a year, Windsor Park is cared for by incessant secret guardians. The Windsor Park dog walkers seem innocent enough, with their cute pooches and their light banter, but at the heart of every dog walker is a community park guardian.
As most are aware, the community consultation that considered three design options for a new fieldhouse at Windsor Park was completed in November. Its results were announced in the News Between the Bridges email newsletter the same month and reported in The OSCAR last month. Consultation findings
