A self-supporting, monthly community-based newspaper published by the Ottawa South Community Association. Our goal is to be the Community Voice — a source of information and a forum for community expression since 1974.

Delivered by your neighbours, funded by local businesses

The OSCAR receives no subsidies. The publication is funded entirely by advertising. 

It is published by the Old Ottawa South Community Association. Distribution is free to all Old Ottawa South homes and businesses, and selected locations in Old Ottawa South and the Glebe. Opinions expressed are those of the authors and not necessarily of The OSCAR or OSCA.

Editorial Policy

The OSCAR serves as a forum to inform and entertain the residents of Old Ottawa South. Articles and letters are solicited primarily from residents and community-oriented organizations about items and information of interest to residents.

Governing Principles

This policy sets out The OSCAR’s governing principles, organization, responsibilities and relationship to the Board of Directors of the Old Ottawa South Community Association (OSCA)

Submission Guidelines

Contributions should be in electronic format sent by e-mail to oscar@oldottawasouth.ca in either plain text or WORD format.
