Green Dreamers will meet on the corner of Glen/Bank Saturday morning, June 10th 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. The task at hand is weeding, turning soil, and removing dead growth. Depending on our numbers, we might be able to tackle the garden bed at Grove/Bank as well. Tools that will prove helpful include trowels, clippers, pitch forks, shovels, and brown bags. As we move from bed to bed this season we are finding it very easy to weed and to turn soil. The earth is light, easy to press a pitch fork into and just as easy to dig. What a difference from when we first started!

Bridge to Bridge Community Reforestation Project
May 11th Tree Planting
We will be doing another tree-planting starting at 9am on Saturday, May 11, 2013. The focus will be planting red and white crabapple trees along Bronson, making for a lovely (and patriotic!) visual effect along this stretch. Noel Lomer has tracked down a great deal on 4-foot crabapples. We'll also be doing a general cleanup of the area, which is a mess of litter. The media has already shown interest in the tree-planting project (the Ottawa Sun has covered our efforts here, and Declan's contacts at the Ottawa Citizen are also interested), so there should be media coverage of the event. We will also do some tree-planting at the green space at Woodbine and Carlyle. It would be great to have a really strong turnout for this!
